General Sales Manager
Large local dealership group is seeking to add an experienced General Manager to its team due to growth and promotion.
The General Manager helps ensure the profitability of the dealership by overseeing the various departments, including variable operations (sales & F&I), fixed operations (service & parts), and the business office (accounting & administration). Duties of the General Manager include planning, motivating, and coordinating the dealership’s management and staff through leadership and solid business practices.
Reports To: Dealership General Manager
Job Duties:
- Hire all sales positions, complete performance evaluations regularly, and develop short and long-term goals for the sales department.
- Effectively communicate with sales team to review forecasts and ensure consistency with annual projections.
- Lead the daily and monthly effort for sourcing, marketing and sale of new and used vehicles.
- Pay close attention to daily operations, recommending and creating improved courses of action where necessary.
- Explain the policies and procedures of the dealership to the sales team and follow up with employees to ensure that these issues are understood and followed.
- Coordinate regular meetings with the sales team to ensure their profitability and efficiency.
- Maintain an enthusiastic attitude to build positive employee attitudes and morale.
- Oversee and maintain all compensation plans for all employees.
- Create cost-effective advertising programs and merchandising strategies for the sales department.
- Attend to and take appropriate steps to resolve any customer complaints.
- Ensure that all sales managers are properly trained and are training F&I specialists and sales consultants, and are complying with all federal, state and local laws and regulations and with the dealership’s policies and procedures.
- Other duties assigned by management.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
