Job Summary
The Revenue Cycle Specialist plays a crucial role in managing the financial processes of healthcare organizations. This position is responsible for overseeing the entire revenue cycle, from patient registration to final payment collection. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate billing, resolve discrepancies, and maintain compliance with regulations while optimizing revenue flow.
Duties
- Manage patient accounts from registration through billing and collections.
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations.
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies and follow up on outstanding claims.
- Review and resolve billing discrepancies and denials in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate records of all transactions and communications related to patient accounts.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure accurate coding and documentation.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient inquiries regarding their accounts.
- Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices related to revenue cycle management.
Skills
- Strong understanding of medical billing, coding, and insurance processes.
- Proficient in Nextgen and billing software.
- Excellent analytical skills for reviewing financial data and resolving issues.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in billing and documentation.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare staff.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations, compliance standards, and privacy laws.
- Must have knowledge of credentialing doctors.
- Must be an expert in Vascular coding.
- 3-5 years of Experience in medical billing and revenue cycle management.
- Must be able to work with front desk, scheduling, clinical and phyicians.
