What are the responsibilities and job description for the ICC Reinforced Concrete Inspector position at Nova Engineering and Environmental LLC?
NOVA Engineering is currently seeking a commercial ICC Reinforced Concrete Inspector for our office in Norcross, GA. Primary duties will include performing structural building inspections and QA/QC tests (soils, masonry, reinforced concrete, structural steel, post-tensioning, fireproofing, etc.). Some travel may be required, and the position will be predominately field located.
The individual will be responsible for the following:
- Field testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, aggregate, and masonry mortar/grout for compliance with ASTM, AASHTO, DOT, and/or project specifications;
- Review of blueprints in preparation of field observations on construction sites;
- Documentation of field activities, observations, and testing results on construction projects, and their conformance with (or deviation from) project plans and specifications;
- Daily use of Metafield, and/or other field and laboratory information management systems, for recording of testing results;
- Communication of field and laboratory testing results with Construction Services and Geotechnical Project Management staff, general contractors, and clients;
- Calibration of field and laboratory equipment to industry codes and standards.
Requirements:
- ICC Reinforced Concrete Certification is required
- Baseplate grout and post installed anchor experience
- Experience with observing concrete placement with PT cables installed
- ICC Soils Certification preferred
- Good understanding of concrete, embedded item placement tolerances, and tracking what has been noted as discrepancies
