Responsibilities & Qualifications

Position Overview:

The Novelis Global Rolling and Finishing team is seeking an engineering co-op. The person in this role will report to the principal engineer leading relevant projects within the Rolling and Finishing R&D team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for using and enhancing computer simulations of manufacturing equipment and processes. This position will help optimize our operations and ensure the simulations are updated and remain a key part of our capabilities.

Responsibilities:

• Work alongside team on projects related to rolling and finishing operations.
• Use and development of experimental techniques, data analysis and/or simulation tools to make process improvements.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Enrolled in an engineering degree program or related field (undergraduate juniors, seniors, or graduate students)
• Good understanding and interest in relevant fields such as heat transfer, fluid dynamics, solid mechanics, manufacturing systems, process optimization and automation
• Interested in manufacturing as a career and a desire to understand how it works.
• Able to communicate complex ideas to a diverse audience.
• Must be available from May 2025 until December 2025

Preferred Qualifications:

• Skills in CAD, other engineering tools and programming languages an advantage
