Controller

NOW CFO is seeking an operational, hands-on Controller with Construction accounting experience to join our consulting team in Medford, Oregon. As a Controller consultant, you will play a critical role in overseeing our clients' financial and accounting functions, ensuring compliance with accounting regulations, and driving financial performance. This role requires in-depth knowledge of GAAP, strong leadership skills, and the ability to operate in a dynamic consulting environment.

We are offering a $110k-$120k base salary depending on experience.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and coordinate all financial and accounting activities for our clients.
• Manage accounting operations including Billing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
• Implement and maintain accounting controls and budgets to mitigate risk and maximize returns on investments.
• Support the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Conduct internal audits to assess financial health and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Serve as the primary contact for external auditors and manage the audit process.
• Standardize and maintain accounting records and processes, adapting as needed for each client's unique needs.
• Provide insights and recommendations for process improvements and financial strategies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (MBA preferred).
• CPA certification is preferred but not required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting management or a related field.
• Experience in the Construction industry accounting is highly preferred.
• Proficiency with ERP systems. (Excise Tax & Sales Tax preferred.)
• Thorough knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities, with a hands-on approach to management.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and clients effectively in a consulting environment.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
