What are the responsibilities and job description for the AR Cash Applications Specialist position at NSD NEWCO?
Position Summary
This position is responsible for the accurate recording of all cash (Checks, Wires) received from customers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepares each day’s deposits for posting and applies it to the customer accounts.
- On a daily basis, research and accurately input cash receipts into the customers’ accounts.
- Verifies accuracy of payment information and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Conducts a daily balancing procedure to assure that all cash is posting.
- Research potential misapplications
- Collaborate with internal departments and communicate with customers to address payment-related inquiries and discrepancies.
- Provide feedback on existing cash application processes and suggest improvements for efficiency and effectiveness.
- Adhere to internal controls and compliance measures related to cash application processes.
- Assists Manager, Collections & Accounts Receivable in resolving discrepancies of cash postings.
- Work closely within the Accounting and Finance teams, and other relevant stakeholders to resolve issues and improve processes.
- Assists in enhancement projects such as system testing, automation and any other improvements which need to be implemented
- Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
- Possess excellent organization and time management skills
Education and Work Experience:
- High School Diploma, some college preferred
- 1-3 years accounts receivable and general accounting experience
Knowledge and Skills :
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies to perform the essential functions of this position.
- Knowledge of accounts receivable cash applications
- Proficiency with Excel and Outlook. Ability to create Pivot Tables and Vlookups
- Must be able to work “hands-on” in a fast-paced, dynamic team-oriented environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and able to collaborate with others across the organization
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to multi-task, follow up, and meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to identify discrepancies and take initiative to research variances and correct
Hours Required:
- 8:15 am - 4:45 pm (May require overtime to completed assigned tasks)
