W2 Contract, 8 Months (Possible Extension / Permanent Conversion)
This is a hybrid position. Candidates must be comfortable working onsite in Philadelphia, PA (19103), Baltimore, MD (21231), Washington, DC (20001), Oak Brook, IL (60181), or Newark, DE (19702) on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays and remotely on Mondays and Fridays.
This would be a typical Monday Friday, 9:00 AM 5:00 PM position. Candidates must be comfortable working Eastern hours.
Overview & Responsibilities:
Our client, a leading public utility, is seeking a highly organized and proactive IT Project Management Assistant to join their Office of the CIO. This role is part of the IT Project Enablement team, which supports IT project managers, sets governance standards, and facilitates management review meetings (MRMs) for IT capital investments and projects. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and experience in project coordination and operational support. A strong understanding of project tracking principles, governance standards, and data quality management is essential. Key responsibilities include:
Provide project support by tracking and ensuring timely closure of IT projects, particularly for accounting purposes.
Coordinate and facilitate meetings for key stakeholder groups, including Change Ambassadors, and manage meeting content.
Review, update, and maintain job aids and procedural documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with governance standards.
Ensure data quality across the IT project portfolio by following up with project managers to maintain accurate project attributes related to scope, schedule, and budget.
Manage multiple tasks and priorities, ensuring that timelines are met and action items are completed efficiently.
Required Skills & Experience:
Bachelor s degree and 3 years of experience in IT project management coordination or assistance.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and follow up on tasks proactively.
Experience using SharePoint and Excel for project coordination and management.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to confidently present information to large audiences.
Experience working in a structured governance environment with a focus on project tracking and operational support.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Experience with Power BI.
Experience with Power Automate.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Bachelor s degree in the STEM field.
