Job Description : Cloud-Native Database Administrator (DBA) – Microsoft Platform
Position Overview
We are seeking a Cloud-Native Database Administrator (DBA) with expertise in Microsoft Azure and SQL Server to manage and optimize our cloud-based database solutions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for database deployment, security, performance tuning, automation, and high availability in a cloud environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy, configure, and manage Azure SQL Database, Azure Managed Instance, SQL Server on Azure VMs , and other cloud-native database solutions.
- Ensure database high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) using Geo-Replication, Failover Groups, and Backups .
- Optimize cloud resources to balance performance and cost-efficiency .
- Monitor database query performance, indexing, and execution plans to improve response times.
- Use Azure Monitor, SQL Profiler, Extended Events , and Query Store for database health checks.
- Implement partitioning, caching, and sharding strategies for large-scale data operations.
- Security & Compliance
Configure RBAC (Role-Based Access Control) and Azure AD authentication for secure access.
Configure automated backups, point-in-time restore, and long-term retention .
Diagnose and resolve database connectivity, query failures, and cloud service outages.
