Job Title: Financial Controller

Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join our dynamic finance team. This pivotal role involves overseeing and managing all aspects of our accounting operations, ensuring precision, integrity, and efficiency in financial processes and reporting. You will lead a team of accounting professionals and collaborate with diverse departments to support our financial goals and compliance obligations. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership capabilities, a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles, and a proven history of managing financial operations effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
- Compliance: Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and healthcare industry regulations.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct financial data analysis to evaluate organizational performance and provide actionable insights for improvement.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage the annual budget in partnership with department heads to align with financial objectives.
- Performance Monitoring: Oversee actual vs. budget performance, identify variances, and implement necessary corrective measures.
- Audit Coordination: Manage annual financial reporting processes including audits, cost reports, and 990 tax return preparations; ensure effective implementation of audit recommendations.
- Regulatory Compliance: Uphold compliance with healthcare regulations, including Medicare/Medicaid billing standards and financial reporting regulations.
- Risk Management: Identify and manage financial risks related to policy changes, reimbursement rates, and economic fluctuations.
- Stakeholder Communication: Regularly communicate financial performance insights to senior leadership, board members, and key stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of proven accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role within a healthcare setting.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards. Proficient in accounting software and ERP systems; experience with financial modeling tools is essential.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Leadership: Demonstrated leadership and communication skills conducive to team management and cross-department collaboration.
- Integrity: High level of integrity with a commitment to confidentiality.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and problem-solving.
- Adaptability: Ability to thrive under pressure, meet deadlines, and adapt to evolving priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA designation preferred.
- Additional related education and/or experience is a plus.
Candidate Profile:
- 7 to 10 years of experience in accounting.
- Mid-Senior Level.
- Management experience required: No.
