Job Description
Desktop IT Technician, maintains, analyzes, troubleshoots, and repairs computer systems, hardware and computer peripherals. Documents, maintains, upgrades or replaces hardware and software systems. Supports and maintains user account information including rights, security and systems groups.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for performing hardware repairs on equipment such as desktops, notebooks, tablets, and printers. Will also perform preventative maintenance and inventory on hardware
- Accountable for giving accurate and appropriate service to end users at assigned hospital facility
- Will regularly perform software upgrades and configuration enhancements as per Workplace Computing standard operation procedures
- Will ensure that all requests from user are logged and proper procedures are followed
- Responsible for maintaining ticket status and resolution information in Service Now ticketing database
- Accountable for meeting established performance metrics which will be used in performance evaluations
- Will use knowledge of testing and distributing security patches to clients on a regular basis
- May be required to build and maintain standard HHC computing images, as well as pushing software
- Participation in rollouts of new software and hardware to ensure consistency in HHC technical standards
- Regularly tasked with installing, repairing and troubleshooting computer hardware, software and peripherals on both the Windows and Apple platforms
- Will regularly manage multiple troubleshooting tasks simultaneously while maintaining the quality of results
- Position may require the creating, maintenance and management of PC images
- Performs other duties as assigned/required
Minimum Qualifications
1. A Baccalaureate Degree in relevant field from an accredited college or university; and,
2. One year of experience in a business, government, hospital, educational institution or non-profit organization in analysis, development and implementation of systems, methods and procedures, management information development and data coordination. Familiarity with EDP applications and data processing programs; or,
3. A Masters Degree in Management, Business Administration, Hospital Administration Management, Public Administration, Accounting or relevant field from an accredited college or university; or,
4. A satisfactory combination of education, training and experience.

- Willingness to travel between sites in the HHC New York City regional footprint (Manhattan, Staten Island, Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, and Roosevelt Island)
