JOB TITLE: Street Team, Live Events (Part-Time)
DEPARTMENT: Marketing
LOCATION: New York, NY
COMPENSATION: $19/hour
POSITION OVERVIEW:
This position plays a vital role in enhancing the fan experience and acting as brand ambassadors for New York City FC during home matches, at external events, and within the community. Candidates will be responsible for interacting with fans of all ages, enhancing the New York City FC brand in a public-facing capacity, and creating positive, lasting memories for all attendees.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Assist the Live Events team with the execution of New York City FC events from start to finish (including assisting with loading in/out, coordinating games and activities, running contests and sweepstakes, setting up/breaking down equipment such as tents, tables, sound equipment, inflatable games, and more)
- Represent the New York City FC brand in a positive, knowledgeable manner
- Act as an on-site host for any street team appearances (includes conducting giveaways on-camera or with a microphone to large audiences)
- Assist the Live Events team on-site with New York City FC tentpole and marketing events such as Homecoming, Golf Classic, CITYFEST, and more
- Engage with people nearby and educate them on New York City FC and entice them to sign up for text/email (data capture)
- Drive team branded vehicles
- Act as a brand ambassador for both New York City FC and our partners as needed
- Assist with partner activations
WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
- Outgoing, energetic, quick-thinking, and comfortable with being on-camera as needed
- Knowledge of our core demographic and the New York City FC brand
- Ability to positively interface with guests of all backgrounds
- Ability to navigate high-pressure situations and problem solve
- Ability to lift a minimum of 30 pounds
- Valid driver’s license and proof of insurability
- Must be able to commute to Citi Field, Yankee Stadium, and areas in and around NYC and occasional trips to the training facility in Orangeburg, NY
- Must be able to be on their feet for extended periods of time
- Night and weekend availability (FanFest, Event and matchday required)
- Comfortable speaking to and managing large crowds
- Excellent communication skills
- Ad Hoc assist with match day presentation as requested.
- Proficiency in Spanish is not required but helpful
- Ability to perform soccer skills/tricks, dance or entertainment background is not required but a bonus
- 1-3 years experience in a BA or street team role
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Applicant must be able to comply with MLS Next Safety and Well-Being policy and any other applicable child safety policies provided to applicants by NYCFC
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as necessary
- Ability to work flexible hours, including matchdays (start time: 3 hours before game time), evenings, weekends, and holidays, as necessary
- Ability to work a minimum 75% of all home games
