Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $80,000/year up to $115,000/year. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. What You Will Do
Produce design of building enclosure systems for new construction and existing buildings (30%)
- Generate standalone set of CAD drawings of building enclosure systems
- Oversee and provide guidance for drafters
- Interface with clients to discuss project goals and needs
- Conduct site visit to document as-built geometries
- Research and specify materials and respond to city review comments
- Review and respond to submittals and RFIs during construction
- Perform calculations to demonstrate compliance with WSEC and SEC
- Review architectural and BE drawings and provide comments regarding compliance
- Generate energy compliance forms and supporting calculations
- Conduct site investigations to document existing conditions
- Coordinate logistics of site visit with contractor, clients, and other experts as necessary
- Perform analysis (code compliance, structural calculations, modeling etc.)
- Generate written report outlining observations and recommendations
- Generate repair drawing set
- Conduct interviews, review past research, and collect new data through testing or modeling
- Generate written report for publication
- Present research to public audience
- Identify opportunities and coordinate logistics with publications and presentations
- Conduct site investigations to document existing conditions
- Coordinate logistics of site visit with contractor, clients, and other experts as necessary
- Perform analysis (code compliance, modeling etc.)
- Generate written report outlining observations and recommendations
- Generate written scope of repair
May include other duties, as assigned.
Required Skills/Competencies
- Flexibility and strong prioritization skills, with ability to work in a matrixed environment responding to multiple stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to listen, understand, respond, and communicate complex information effectively with varying audiences.
- Solid organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management.
- A team-oriented approach and the ability to work with different personalities and professional styles under pressure.
- Detail oriented with an emphasis on accuracy and quality.
- Ability to work effectively in both self-directed and collaborative environments.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, Outlook, Bluebeam Revu, Microsoft Project (or other scheduling software).
- 3 years of experience in building enclosure, architecture, construction or related field
- BS in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering or related field from an accredited university
- Must be a Licensed Professional Engineer
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Must have an acceptable driving record
- Demonstrated understanding of green and sustainable building practices, LEED™ Accredited Professional a plus
