What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Payable Specialist position at Oahu Publications, Inc.?
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for:
- processing for payment all company bills.
- maintaining newsprint and ink inventory records.
- preparing job costing using generally accepted costing procedures.
- preparing gross profit report.
- inputting and processing all payables data using the computer system and established computer procedures for updating and maintaining inventory, costing and other reports.
- preparing written correspondence with vendors.
- reconciling all vendor statements monthly.
- updates cash requirements daily.
- works on special projects as assigned.
- maintaining payables and inventory procedures and monitors, via accounting manager, the integrity of data produced and reported.
- maintaining internal control procedures.
- meeting all deadlines as assigned.
- preparing for an audit at any time.
- maintaining confidentiality.
A degree in accounting or equivalent experience is required. Minimum 2 years previous accounts payable experience is required. Requires use of computer, 10-key by touch. Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs., twist and bend with flexibility. Must be able to work at computer station for up to four hours at a time. Must be able to communicate in person, and by telephone with vendors.
