Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Communicates with Inbound Supervisor to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
Adjusts routes to ensure timely freight pick-ups and delivery to meet customer’s needs.
Communicates frequently with customers on status of pick-ups and deliveries.
Supervise operations, procedures, and freight movement.
Works with Outbound Dock Lead to ensure timely closing and departure of line haul shipments.
Enforces compliance with administrative policies, procedures, safety rules and government regulations.
Address internal & external customers emails/phone calls in a timely fashion to completion.
Schedule pick-up & delivery appointments.
Work with drivers, dock personnel, and customers to rectify OS&D issues.
Able to fill in multiple positions as work levels fluctuate.
Supervises P&D and Line Haul drivers to improve performance and meet company goals.
Creates and maintains a teamwork environment with employees.
Coordinates drivers and assigns trucks and delivery routes for delivery of freight.
Oversees the upkeep and maintenance of equipment and facility for effective, clean, and safe operations.
Manage cost goals at all levels of the terminal.
Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:
1 year of supervisory experience in LTL freight, logistics or transportation preferred.
1 year of CDL driving experience preferred.
Proven leadership, team building and interpersonal relationship skills.
Must have good computer skills (AS/400 & MS Office a plus).
Possess excellent verbal, written communication and listening skills.
Knowledge of hazardous materials preferred.
Must have strong work ethic and good problem-solving skills.
Must be available to work up to 50 hours/week average.
Must be able to work independently, or in a team setting.
Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high-volume environment with multiple priorities.
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
