Overview:
We are seeking a Drafting Designer who will focus on maintaining configuration control drawings for Computational Facilities and Infrastructure. This position resides in the Drafting and Engineering Information Services Team in the Integrated Operations Support Division, Facilities and Operations Directorate at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL).
As part of our team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining engineering drawings and other documentation for facilities and infrastructure within the Computational Facilities Complex and maintaining electrical drawings for other standard industrial facilities. This position will work closely with Facility Engineers and Project staff to provide drafting design support for ongoing operations as well as renovation and modification projects. The focus of this position will be Electrical Drafting but will provide drafting support to other engineering fields as needed.

Major Duties/Responsibilities:
- Incorporate redline markups and as-built documentation from vendors and subcontractors into existing configuration control drawings.
- Create and revise electrical one-line drawings in accordance with established drafting standards.
- Create new engineering drawings for project planning and scoping.
- Develop sketches and supporting documentation for facility operation activities.
- Ensure document control and maintain engineering information in accordance with existing standards. Track drawing and document requests through to completion and ensure all required reviews and approvals are appropriately documented.
- Respond to requests for information from various customers.
- Perform miscellaneous drafting design tasks, as needed.

Basic Qualifications:
- AS or AAS degree in computer-aided drafting and design or a related discipline
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in Drafting and Design with experience in Electrical Design
- Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design Software including Bentley MicroStation
- Experience with Engineering Drawing and Document Management
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with AutoCAD
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and to participate creatively in collaborative teams across the laboratory.
- Ability to function well in a fast-paced research environment, set priorities to accomplish multiple tasks within deadlines, and adapt to ever changing needs
