The Health Information Liaison Specialist – SNF performs a variety of complex clerical tasks to audit and collect patient accounts. Investigates and maintains records and reports on delinquencies. Meets with patients about billing questions. Utilizes a working understanding of the clinical processes to achieve standard of care and documentation for the purpose of auditing records for completeness. Assist the Medical Records Coordinator and Medical Records clerk as a liaison for Oakdale Nursing and Rehabilitation facility in conjunction with the Health Information Manager.

Job Requirements
- Proficiency in Accounting Principles
- Basic knowledge of government programs as well as other types of insurance including Indemnity, HMO, PPO, etc.
- Understanding of HCFA 1500 and UB-04 billing preferred.
- Medical terminology
- Basic understanding of CPT and ICD -10 CM coding preferred
- High school graduate or equivalent required
- Two (2) years of computerized medical billing/medical records or related experience preferred
- Experience in Long-Term Care preferred
- Knowledge of confidentiality rules, and State and Federal Laws
- Demonstrate organizational abilities.
- Ability to work directly with patients on the telephone and in person.
- Meditech/Point Click Care and/or computer system processing preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- PC literate, typing, data entry, 10-key PC skills preferred
- Able to perform basic mathematical calculations
- Ability to operate a computer for records management.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
