Overview
Moody Center is seeking a skilled and experienced Electrician to maintain, repair, and install electrical systems throughout our venue. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in electrical work, hold a Journeyman Electrician certification, and have a strong understanding of venue power systems and event-related electrical needs.
This role pays an hourly rate of $27.00-$29.00

This position will remain open until June 27, 2025.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, wiring, and equipment throughout the arena.
- Complete work orders in a well-established preventative maintenance system for the facility and all equipment.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues during events to minimize disruptions and ensure seamless operations.
- Record and log all work performed, complete work orders, and compile all required reports in a timely and complete manner.
- Collaborate with facility management and external vendors on large-scale electrical projects and upgrades.
- Maintain electrical equipment and systems and make recommendations for maintenance.
- Maintain effective working relationships with clients, employees, exhibitors, patrons, and others encountered during employment.
- Serve as team representative for the Moody Center when scheduled as lead for assigned events.
- Ensure all electrical work complies with local, state, and national electrical codes and safety regulations.
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on venue power distribution systems, generators, and backup power sources.
- Work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, days, evenings, holidays, and extended (long) workdays for an extended number of days as needed.
- Frequent bending, carrying, moving, climbing, working from various heights, lifting 50 pounds, sitting, exposure to moderate to loud noises, and extensive walking through the building.
Qualifications
- 5 years of hands-on electrical experience, preferably in large venues, stadiums, or event spaces, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Journeyman Electrician certification is highly preferred.
- Strong electrical systems, generators, lighting controls, and power distribution knowledge.
- Experience working with concerts or live event production power needs is a plus.
- Knowledge of and ability to use power tools and hand tools.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- You must hold a valid Driver’s License.
- Understand the methods, principles, and practices required for operating and maintaining mechanical and electrical systems.
- Familiarity with general maintenance operational procedures, facility capabilities, industry terminology, event-related services, and technical requirements for anticipated events is preferred.
- Possess any licenses, certificates, or training required by local, state, or national authorities to operate the equipment found in the facility.
- Ability to follow and adhere to all safety precautions, building codes, rules, regulations, risk management, and emergency procedures.
- Ability to operate monitoring controls and a personal computer (light use) using 24/7 Work Order System Windows and Microsoft Office software E-mail.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule inclusive of weekends, nights, and holidays required
- Must be willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Minimal Travel (<10% travel): May be required to travel.
- Trips may require air travel and/or overnight stay away from home for one or more nights.
