Pharmacy Internship

Oakwood Pharmacy interns will support the administrative and project-management activities of the department. These include the implementation of new procedures, protocols, and systems, , management of project roll-out throughout the organization, if applicable, and interdepartmental communication to ensure successful implementation as necessary.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: (included but not limited to)

• Understands general attributes of a long-term care pharmacy and be able to assess areas for improvement, development, and growth. .
• Participates in continuous performance improvement and regulatory monitoring and monitors processes and projects to ensure safe medication packaging and administration..
• Participates in the day-to-day operations of a long-term care pharmacy and engage in activities of pharmacy practice as directed and overseen by the Director of Pharmacy and staff pharmacists.
  
  

Essential Qualifications

• Studying pharmacy or related field preferred.
• Entering 2nd or 3rd year of pharmacy education.
  
  

Timeline: This internship will last from 8-12 weeks, depending on the availability of intern. There is a possibility that the internship could continue into the fall on a part-time basis, depending on availability of the intern.
