2025 Help Wanted: Summer/Seasonal, Road Workers
The Oceana County Road Commission is seeking Summer/Seasonal Employees for the position of Road Worker/Traffic Regulator. Applicants should be 18 years old minimum age, and possess a high school degree or equivalent. The position is typically 40 hours per week and pays $16.64 per hour straight time with no benefits.
Summer hours are 6:30 am until 4:30 pm Monday thru Thursday with paid 15 minute break and paid 20 minute lunch.
Duties may include but are not limited to traffic regulating, set up of signs and work zones, road work including hot and cold patching, dura patching, picking up dead animals, wedging, chip sealing, crack pouring, shoveling, raking and more. Safety toed boots with a 6” cuff are required.
The candidate will be capable of lifting up to 75 pounds and performing physical labor in all types of weather conditions. A valid Michigan Driver license is required, and a company vehicle will be provided during work hours for use on projects. A successful applicant will be able to read and write, and follow verbal and written instructions.
A background check and alcohol and drug test are required.
