What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sales Training Program position at Odeon Capital Group?

Odeon offers an accelerated training program designed to prepare recent college graduates for a sales career with the company. The program is built on a foundation of hands-on training, online coursework, and in-person lectures.

The training program is set to start on Monday, September 11, 2023. All accepted candidates into the program will be required to take FINRA exams, including the SIE, Series 7TO and 63 prior to joining on September 11th.

Learning Format

Desk rotation: hands-on experience with the Sales and Trading team on the floor.

Interactive lecture-style: weekly sessions with internal subject matter experts.

External speaking engagements: talks on real-life experiences in the financial markets.

Online coursework/reading: assigned reading on subject-matter topics and industry experience.

Securities Pitch: at the end-of the program, each trainee will create a pitch on a security of their choosing.

Support

Over the course of the 4-month program, trainees will have the support of the training leader who has more than a decade of experience at Odeon. Trainees will be able to share their accomplishments with the training leader, work through challenges together, or get quick answers to program questions.

Outcome

At the end of the program, we expect our trainees to:

  • Understand the various products that Odeon sells and trades
  • Be able to build relationships internally and externally
  • Be proficient in communicating with managers, peers, and clients
  • Have attended morning meetings, internal, and external speakers sessions
  • Have been proficient in carrying out assignments during desk rotation
  • Have shown the willingness to learn

Upon successful completion of the program, trainees are matched with a trading desk as a junior salesperson, trader, or operations support.

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field
  • Strong desire to pursue a career in financial services
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • High level of self-motivation and determination
  • Demonstrated track record of achievement, leadership, and teamwork.

Odeon Capital Group provides a total compensation package which may include a base salary, commissions, discretionary performance bonus, and/or a comprehensive benefits package. The estimated base salary range for this position, at the time of posting, is $58,500 to $65,000, which is specific to New York and may change in the future. When finalizing an offer, we take into consideration an individual’s experience level and the qualifications they bring to the role to formulate a competitive total compensation package. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location. The final base salary amount that is offered to any candidate, in any location, will be determined on several factors, which may include but are not limited to location, work experience, skills, knowledge, education, and/or regulatory licenses.
