This position develops, implements and monitors the quality improvement plan for the hospital which includes evaluating the quality of patient care and patient outcomes as they relate to multidisciplinary interventions and relays the information to the Chief Compliance Officer. The Quality Assurance/Improvement Nurse participates in the development and implementation of various activities to improve the overall quality of the hospital. Performs related duties as assigned. When necessary this position may be required to work holidays and weekends. During onsite surveys, mandatory overtime is an essential function of this position. Performs related duties as assigned.This is a tobacco free facility. Chosen applicants must successfully complete a chemical urinalysis and breath analysis drug screening test. All employees shall be subject to drug testing for probable cause as set forth in Agency and Bureau policies. Candidates must successfully pass a background screening. 0512P00325**This position qualifies for an appointment incentive of $12,500, to the selected applicant who agrees to work for the facility for a minimum period of twelve (12) months**

Mildred Mitchell-Bateman Hospital, located in Huntington, West Virginia, is a 110-bed psychiatric hospital owned and operated by the West Virginia Department of Health Facilities. Mildred Mitchell-Bateman Hospital provides quality patient care and a safe environment for its patients, who are often committed to the hospital through civil commitment or, in the case of forensic patients, ordered through the judicial system. As a training site for future health care professionals, Mildred Mitchell-Bateman Hospital provides on-site learning experiences for educating physicians, nurses, practical nurses, psychologists, counselors, health care administrators, technicians, and supportive services personnel. The hospital holds accreditation by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and is certified by Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Through ongoing collaboration with Marshall University’s Department of Behavioral Medicine & Psychiatry, a variety of medical and clinical professionals partner with the hospital’s own staff to work diligently with patients to achieve a smooth transition back to the community after discharge.
