This position is located in the Government of the District of Columbia, Office of Administrative Hearings. OAH is an independent , impartial, administrative court that provides fair and efficient adjudication services for more than 25 District of Columbia agencies, boards, and commissions and for certain private parties.
The incumbent performs a full range of records or documents processing and maintenance functions.
Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure that customer records are maintained, distributed, stored, and/or destroyed in compliance with regulatory requirements. Analyzes and verifies each record for deficiencies, completeness, consistency, and compliance. Informs the OAH staff on deficient and non-compliant records and makes recommendations to resolve these issues and/or problems.
Organizes and assembles active customer records in proper sequence. Develops and maintains the records classification system; color codes and indexes all records and files by categories; retrieves customer records as requested by OAH staff, case managers, support enforcement specialists, attorneys, and consultants; and maintains a system that tracks all outgoing and incoming records. Purges/consolidates records. Maintains and tracks records of closed cases.
Participates in special projects and responds to requests made under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). Screens and conducts a comprehensive search; photocopies documents; and provides information sought by attorneys, court representatives, and officials, et al.
Qualifications
Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position in the normal line of progression. The applicant must possess one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the grade 06 level.
