Position Summary
Reporting to Senior Supply Chain Manager, the Supply Planner works closely with factory, production, sales, and logistics colleagues as well as with suppliers in order to ensure that inventory positions and supply is optimal against customer sales and forecasts.
The ideal candidate for this position will be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization. They will have strong attention to detail and will be able to manage multiple competing priorities. Ability to think ahead and proactively work to solve any shortages in supply will be key to success in this position.
Position Responsibilities
- Work with internal planning and logistics team to develop and monitor production and shipping schedules based on purchase contract, required inventory stock levels, and customer needs.
- Maintain supply chain and inventory position by product by warehouse. Account for transit times, dragging contracts, estimated purchases/shipments and forecasted sales.
- Perform reconciliation for inventory discrepancies
- Plan material ship dates against active orders and open contracts for the Cocoa business.
- Develop and monitor fulfillment schedules based on required inventory stocking levels. Make adjustments as needed based on business and customer needs.
- Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for each step of the Company's Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) to ensure continual improvement.
- Review current supply planning processes and identify opportunities to improve the fulfilment of the demand and sales orders while achieving inventory objectives.
- Maintains great communication and collaboration with cross functional team, including but not limited to Quality Assurance (QA), Shipping, Customer Service, Sales and Planning.
- Review and develop a strategy to reduce all slow moving and obsolete inventories.
- Manage inventories to ensure that products are not allowed to age.
- Support import program by following up and resolving any challenges.
- Understand material planning and re-ordering process from key stakeholders including procurement managers
- Reconcile traceability program and associated certification around it.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Analyze current trends and one offs to develop what if scenarios to reduce impacts of abnormal demand/supply situations.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Supply Chain Management or related field is required. Four (4) years’ planning experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
- Two (2) years’ experience in production/inventory control is required. Candidates substituting experience in lieu of degree require six (6) years of related experience. Experience should include physical inventory, reconciliation and database control.
- Strong ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbal, with all levels of employees and customers is required.
- Solid computer skills with significant experience within Excel are required. Previous working experience and knowledge of SAP is preferred.
- Ability to solve complex problems and present effective and efficient solutions in a clear and concise manner to management is required.
- Strong attention to detail is required.
