Introduction
Ohio Alleycat Resource & Spay/Neuter Clinic is a private nonprofit organization offering a high-volume, high-quality spay/neuter clinic and an adoption center for cats. Our clinic serves both owned and unowned cats, performing up to 12,000 operations annually to support cats in need throughout the Greater Cincinnati Area.
In 2025, we are expanding our operations with an exciting new pilot program: the Community Cat Program! We are seeking a dynamic, mission-driven individual to fill the role of Community Cat Program Coordinator.The Community Cat Program (CCP) Coordinator will lead Ohio Alleycat Resource’s TNVR (trap-neuter-vaccinate-return) efforts. Responsibilities include collecting, organizing, and applying data on free-roaming, unowned outdoor cats in the Cincinnati area; trapping cats using a targeted TNVR approach; recruiting and managing volunteers; and engaging community cat caretakers to meet program goals. The role also involves building strong relationships with the public and partner organizations.

This role involves collecting, organizing, and applying data on free-roaming, unowned outdoor cats in the Cincinnati area, trapping cats using a targeted TNVR approach; recruiting and managing volunteers and engaging community cat caretakers to reach goals. In addition, this role will foster strong relationships with the public and partner organizations.
Job Requirements:
- Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed
- Highly motivated with the ability to meet deliverables with minimal supervision
- Ability to stand, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to convey program goals to a diverse audience, including cat caretakers, property managers, and potential volunteers
- Proven experience in managing employees or volunteers effectively
- Capacity to compassionately resolve conflicts within the community
- Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving skills
- Ability to operate a large transport van under various driving conditions
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred
- Knowledge of community cat management, feline behavior, and spay/neuter practices
- Experience in humanely trapping community cats and using various trapping equipment
- Ability to collect, analyze, and apply data, including mapping cat colony locations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and capable of learning new software
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Experience in an animal shelter or veterinary clinic preferred, but not required
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Collect and organize data on reported cat colonies to develop a strategic TNR plan
- Build strong relationships with community members, including cat caretakers and complainants; implement conflict resolution & mediation techniques to build trust within the community
- Trap, transport, and return cats, meeting a weekly goal of 30 successful surgeries
- Recruit, train, and manage TNR volunteers;
- Provide humane care during all stages of the TNR process, including trapping, transport, and during post-op recovery
- Ensure proper housing and daily care of cats awaiting surgery or release
- Maintain cleanliness and disease control in animal housing areas and transport vehicles
- Manage inventory of trapping supplies, ensuring traps are clean, functional, and properly stored
- Instruct volunteers and the public on humane use of live traps
- Provide monthly reports on program progress and success stories to management
- Other duties as assigned
Work Environment:
The duties of this role are performed at a high-volume spay/neuter clinic as well as in the field. The CCP Coordinator may encounter extreme weather conditions such as high heat, storms, and winter weather such as snow or ice. There is risk of potential exposure to zoonotic diseases, dangerous and fractious animals, high noise levels, hazardous chemicals, sharp objects, and conditions surrounding animal hoarding or neglect. There is a frequent need to lift up to 50 lbs., long periods of standing, bending, stooping, reaching and working outdoors in differing climates and animal handling and restraint. Potential exposure of infectious diseases to your owned animals may be encountered. Successful applicants must be able to handle all sizes and activity levels of cats and must regularly drive an OAR vehicle to perform duties.
