On Behalf Of The Administrative Officer 3 Of The Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP), Office Of Finance & Logistics, Plan, Direct, & Coordinate Activities Of The OSHP Fleet Management Tailor Shop & Logistics Services Sections & Supervise Assigned Staff
- Oversee computerized system for Fleet Management (Fleet Ohio) to update inventory & maintenance records, conduct vehicle forecasting & annual fleet certification, & Tailor Shop (Tailor Shop) to perform employee uniform/equipment records maintenance & replacement supply ordering;
- Serve as liaison with the Department of Administrative Services office of Fleet Management to ensure OSHP Fleet Management is in compliance with statewide directives; Coordinate activities between central & field offices, warehouses & delivery companies to achieve distribution goals;
- Assist in developing specifications for patrol cars & other department vehicles for purchase;
- Provide effective oversight of a 2,000 motor vehicle fleet operation, including purchase planning, salvage processing, issuance & vehicle registration processing, vehicle payment card maintenance & repair authorization;
- Formulate & implement new program policy for related units (i.e., inventory control & tracking, maintenance of division fleet, uniform & equipment, contract specifications, etc.); Analyze current policy & procedure to ensure best practices are maintained & update as needed;
- Enforce rules & regulations concerning recordkeeping of all equipment &/or supplies & advise Patrol facilities on other OSHP Warehouse programmatic issues;
- Develop & monitor expenditures for uniform equipment & supplies including reviewing & authorizing expenditures;
- Review contracts & equipment specifications; Research alternative equipment or uniform needs; Provide updates & reports as needed when Division needs change;
- Establish priorities & supervise subordinate personnel (e.g., provide developmental opportunities & work direction, coach staff to foster development, monitor staff activities to ensure quality customer service & information technology security, evaluate performance, approve section staffing levels, recommend discipline, pre-screen applications & participate in interviews);
- Create schedules for shipments & mailing of delivery items to OSHP facilities;
- Maintain consumable supplies needed for agency;
- Serve as liaison with public officials, private industry, vendors, ODPS Administrative Division, other internal divisions, & the general public;
- Attend or conduct meetings;
- Respond to inquiries &/or complaints via email, telephone &/or writing;
- Serve on committees as they relate to the work units impacted;
- Speak on behalf of administrator at meetings concerning policy changes regarding OSHP logistical operations;
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Or completion of undergraduate core program in business or public administration or closely related area; 6 mos. exp. in either field.
- Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
