Current Course/Subject Area Needs:

- Offer tutoring sessions and supplemental instruction to students to enhance their understanding of course materials.
- Help students with course concepts, problem-solving, study strategies, and academic skill development.
- Regularly manage appointment availability in Penji and promptly respond to student requests for tutoring sessions.
- Hold down walk-in/study table hours as per the scheduling arrangement.
- Collaborate with students to schedule tutoring appointments based on availability and academic needs.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of tutoring sessions at the time of the appointment.
- Prepare brief notes summarizing the content covered during each tutoring session.
- Initiate regular check-ins with students to monitor their progress and offer additional support as needed or required.
- Must be in at least their second year at OWU.
- Obtain a recommendation from at least one professor in the tutoring subject.
- Hold at least a 3.0 GPA in the subject they wish to tutor.
- Demonstrate subject matter expertise in the area(s) they intend to tutor.

Other Qualifications:
- Participate in a .25 credit tutor training course facilitated by the Sagan ARC for new tutors.
- Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Exhibit patience, empathy, and enthusiasm in working with students from diverse backgrounds.
- Display reliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of responsibility in fulfilling tutoring commitments.
- Acquire professional training as a peer tutor through our training course.
