Job Summary:
Maintain ongoing focus on student success, retention, outreach, and diversity.
Advise honors students from a variety of colleges and degree programs.
Evaluate student records and maintain advising records/files.
Perform administrative duties and special projects as assigned.
Refer advisees to appropriate campus resources.
Assist with and attend college events as assigned.
Meet and advise prospective students and families.
Present to prospective students and families on campus tours.
Use electronic advising systems.
Use academic alert notifications to enhance interactions with students and instructors.
Update practices based on changes in university policies and procedures.
Communicate effectively and on a regular basis with advisees using various formats.
Transfer Student Specialist (20%)
Serve as advisor and staff specialist in working with transfer students in honors
Provide and support orientation and engagement programming for transfer students in honors
Liaise with partners at OSU-Tulsa campus regarding matters related to the OSU-Tulsa Honors Award
Liaise with university partners in the Office of Transfer Student Success
Visit community colleges and two-year institutions to represent the honors college and recruit diverse groups of prospective students
Meet and advise prospective transfer students and families on honors options for transfer students
Assist with special projects and programs as assigned

Education & Experience
Position Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
Zero to two years of experience in a comparable position.
Excellent communication skills needed as well as the ability to provide honors academic advising on a university-wide basis.
Ability to lift 25 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
Three years as an honors college or honors program student and a minimum 3.50 undergraduate cumulative GPA. Honors program degree or honors college degree from an institution affiliated with the National Collegiate Honors Council. Recognition of scholarly quality by election to Phi Kappa Phi or Phi Beta Kappa. Background in transfer student success, retention, and engagement programming in an academic setting.
In addition to these proven administrative skills, candidates should possess an established record of promoting ethical behavior and social responsibility, and a demonstrated capacity to work effectively with culturally diverse students, staff, and faculty.
