In 2024, we officially transitioned from Community Service Council to Oklahoma Veterans United (OKVU). Our organizational focal points are housing services, suicide prevention resources, and employment opportunities for Veterans through key initiatives such as Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF), Staff Sergeant Parker Fox Suicide Prevention Grant Program (SSG FOX SPGP), Veteran Employer Network, Right Face, and more.
In this role, you are primarily responsible for direct supervision of assigned staff. This includes daily oversight of participant files, review of all financial assistance requests and participant staffing, when necessary. Additionally, this position provides input for developing program policies and procedures, as well as the daily monitoring of ongoing operations to maintain program integrity, effectiveness, and grant compliance. A key part of this position is developing and maintaining relationships and collaborations with community agencies, faith-based organizations, Veteran’s Affairs, and Veteran Service Organizations that best advance SSVF’s success.
What You Will Do:
- Provide direct supervision for assigned SSVF staff.
- Interface with VA Housing Program management to ensure collaboration and program cohesiveness.
- Assist in the development, and monitor implementation of annual program plans that includes specific goals, objectives, responsibilities, timetables, and outcome measures.
- Provide ongoing contact and communication with partner agencies to ensure effective working relationships necessary for program success.
- Maintain program policies and procedures in compliance with SSVF regulations.
- Assist in the development and implementation of a staff training model consistent with best practices and evidenced based practices in the area of veteran’s services
- Performs other duties as assigned.
What You Will Bring:
- A minimum of two (2) years of professional work related experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred in education, social/human services, and/or business; or an equivalent combination of work related experience and education.
- Supervisory or team lead experience
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Skillful with conflict resolution/mediation
- Familiarity with strategic planning and organizational practices
- Understanding of grant applications and related budgeting
- Knowledge of case management best practices
