Job Description
To provide administrative support for the Peninsula Center including coordinating proctor schedules and proctoring exams. Answering the phone and covering the office reception area, assistance with setting up meetings and functions for university and public groups, assisting students with registration and other concerns, assisting with outreach projects such as research, maintaining files, information materials, reports, and office supplies.

Considerable knowledge of effective customer service techniques. Working knowledge of general office practices and equipment. Some knowledge of proctored exams including maintaining the university’s high standards in the administration of exams. Some knowledge of current business practices and office procedures. Some knowledge of effective work methods as a member of a team. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Effective time management and organizational skills. Effective skill in the use of Microsoft Office, or similar software, to produce a variety of documents and perform general clerical tasks. Demonstrated ability to use various PC-based software programs including word processing and e-mail communication. Demonstrated ability to draft accurate and professional correspondence and forms for internal use. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with diverse internal and external customers.

Level and type of experience
Considerable experience providing customer service in a business environment required. Some experience providing administrative support and customer service in a high volume office environment. Some experience using Microsoft Office or related software to produce a variety of documents and perform clerical/administrative functions.
Preferred knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, licensure, certification
Some experience working in Higher Education, diversity course, experience working with diverse customers. Experience in enrollment services in higher education. H.S. Diploma or equivalent required. Additional training in office management or related field preferred. Training in PC-based software programs such as Microsoft Office Suite.
Conditions of Employment
Hourly (wage) employees are restricted to working 29 hours per week on average or 1500 hours in total in the May 1 – April 30 period. This position does not have health insurance, retirement or leave.
2-3 weekdays per week 4:30 pm – 10:00 pm (flexible alternating with other staff member). Most Saturday’s 9:00 am – 2:00 pm
