Job Description
To provide user assistance, student supervision, operational support, and facilities oversight in the Learning Commons @ Perry Library during evening, overnight, and weekend service hours.
Type of Recruitment Knowledge, skills and abilities Some knowledge of effective supervisory techniques. Considerable knowledge of effective customer service techniques.
Basic critical thinking and problem solving skills. Basic computer applications skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to take initiative and work well independently.Ability to work well within a team environment. Ability to learn and develop new skills.
Special licenses, registration or certification None Education or training None Level and type of experience Considerable experience in providing quality customer service in a public setting.
Some supervisory experience. Additional Considerations (supplemental knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, licensure, certification) Basic library research experience.
Conditions of Employment Position works evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Hourly (wage) employees are restricted to working 29 hours per week on average or 1500 hours in total in the May 1 April 30 period.
