Position Overview:
The Sr. Data Reporting Analyst will perform data analysis that directly supports tactical and strategic decision-making, develop presentations to communicate compliance health, contribute to IT developments by providing business requirements, and drive continuous improvement and operational transformation.
Essential Job Functions:
Reporting & Analysis:
- Provide reporting services to meet the needs of internal stakeholders and ensure compliance with external requirements.
- Respond to internal and external inquiries in line with departmental standards.
- Coordinate with various teams and partners to understand reporting needs and ensure alignment with goals.
- Perform in-depth data analysis to identify trends, risks, and insights that will inform both tactical and strategic decision-making.
- Develop presentations that highlight key trends, risks, and the overall health of compliance across the firm to inform leadership.
- Analyze data discrepancies and collaborate with relevant teams for timely resolution.
- Address reporting errors and system-created issues through data analysis and problem-solving.
- Perform manual adjustments as needed for IT-related queries and troubleshooting.
System & IT Collaboration:
- Collaborate with IT to verify and test new system implementations.
- Provide business requirements for IT developments and enhancements, ensuring alignment with business needs.
- Perform user testing to validate system changes and ensure accurate functionality.
- Stay updated on industry regulations and ensure procedures align with compliance standards.
Cross-Departmental Communication & Collaboration:
- Maintain open communication with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless data management.
- Work closely with department leadership and colleagues to address data reporting challenges.
- Foster positive relationships with both internal teams and external partners.
General Responsibilities:
- Support audit activities and address system-related issues, including those from external bureaus.
- Utilize various software systems for data entry, retrieval, and reporting as per departmental requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, data analytics, finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in data analysis, compliance, insurance, and operations.
- Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reporting, and complex functions (e.g., pivot tables, macros, advanced formulas).
- Excellent customer service and relationship-building abilities.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to make informed decisions and work under pressure.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex information and identify key insights to drive decision-making.
- Adaptable, flexible, and solution-oriented.
- Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset.
- Knowledge of Business Intelligence (BI) reporting tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms, with the ability to design, develop, and interpret reports for data-driven decision-making.
