You will have the ability to interact with individuals out in the field and in the boardroom – adjusting your approach to each situation. You will thrive in a dynamic, small office environment in Houston, where you will spend your days meeting with potential clients and building a robust pipeline of opportunities.This position will require travel up to 25% of the time. Candidates MUST be based in Houston.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Business Development
- Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies aligned with firm objectives.
- Research, identify and pursue new business opportunities to generate leads across practice areas and work with firm partners to convert them into clients.
- Create and maintain a robust pipeline of potential clients and opportunities.
- Monitor market trends and conduct market research to identify potential clients and understand their legal service needs.
- Collaborate with practice group leaders to develop industry and sector-specific growth strategies.
- Work with the marketing team to develop targeted campaigns and materials.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key decision-makers at target organizations.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure a seamless transition from business development to service delivery.
- Attend industry events and networking functions to promote the firm.
- Utilize CRM software to track activities and maintain accurate records of all sales activities.
- Work closely with the legal services team to understand the firm’s offerings and match them to potential client needs.
- Conduct initial consultations with prospective clients to assess their requirements in order to introduce them to leadership of the correct service line.
- Prepare and present proposals, service agreements, pricing plans and letters of engagement to potential clients.
- 6 years of experience in the upstream oil and gas industry with a focus on the Houston market
- Bachelor’s degree
- Proven track record of building a professional network
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills, proven ability to multi-task, prioritize, analyze, organize, attend to detail, and follow through
- Ability to be coached by others
- Commitment to excellent client service
- Must be based in Houston
- Experience with HubSpot is preferred
- Proficiency in MS Office suite applications, specifically MS Excel
- Market base salary bonus plan; this is not a commission based role
