What are the responsibilities and job description for the Banquet Captain position at Olympic Hills Golf Club?
Olympic Hills is seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Banquet Captain to lead our team in delivering exceptional food, service, and experiences for current and future events. If you take pride in creating memorable occasions and have a knack for leadership, this role is perfect for you.
This is a full-time, seasonal position (May–October), with part-time hours during the off-season (November – April).
Key responsibilities:
- Staff management: Train new staff, assign duties, and address team concerns.
- Event execution: Ensure events run seamlessly while exceeding guest expectations
- Customer service: Respond promptly to guest inquiries, address concerns, and provide personalized service.
- Safety and sanitation: Maintain compliance with all safety and hygiene regulations.
- Event setup and cleanup: Oversee event setup, teardown, and ensure the venue is always presentable.
- Ballroom staging: Prepare the ballroom to impress clients during venue tours.
- Banquet checks: Review and confirm Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), communicate day-of or last-minute changes with the Event Manager and Chef(s).
- Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain adequate stock levels for events.
Job Tasks/Duties:
- Collaborate with the Event Manager on staffing schedules.
- Checking in with event contact at start of event and throughout event
- Provide post-event feedback to the Event Manager, including billing-related discussions.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients and guests during events.

Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years banquet/wedding server experience
- Proven leadership abilities and team management skills
- Strong understanding of food and beverage service standards.
- Ability to work flexible hours depending on events schedule
- 32-36 hours per week during season (heavy weekends), up to 20 hours per week during the off-season
