Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Project Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the construction management process by providing accurate estimates for various projects. The Project Estimator will collaborate closely with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure that all estimates align with project goals and budgets.
Duties
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects using industry-standard software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam.
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers to develop budgets and timelines for projects.
- Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather information necessary for accurate estimating.
- Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to secure favorable terms.
- Monitor project costs throughout the construction process to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Provide support in the preparation of bids and proposals for potential projects.
- Maintain organized records of estimates, contracts, and correspondence related to each project.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of construction management principles and practices.
- Proficiency in estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam is highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to negotiate effectively with contractors and suppliers.
- Strong understanding of cost control measures within the construction industry.
- Familiarity with construction site operations and safety protocols.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with various stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment.
