What are the responsibilities and job description for the Acquisition Specialist position at Ombra?
Position Summary: Ombra has an exciting new opportunity for a full-time Acquisition Specialist. Ombra is composed of a team of relentless acquisition professionals who consistently team with government and industry partners to rapidly develop and field capabilities that enable the Nation’s Warfighters to win.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in Statement of Work preparation, Performance Work Statement, Single Acquisition Management Plan, Financial Management worksheet, Acquisition Program Baseline, program protection plan, and annual spend plan build for assigned programs.
- Assist in managing program cost, schedule, performance, and risks in accordance to policies and procedures; formulate proposed mitigations, as necessary.
- Support/conduct portions of market research.
- Assist in execution of price and cost analysis sufficient to review proposals, actual and estimated expenditures, and establish rates to determine price reasonableness or to determine a negotiation position; apply funding rules associated with the obligation of multiple types of appropriations.
- Assist in applying precedents found in government contracting case law to specific contracting situations to ensure that legally binding contracting officer decisions are consistent, justifiable, and will be upheld by appellate courts or boards.
- Assist in support of contracting negotiation, administration and termination principles, policies, procedures and technical requirements applicable to the full range of contracting actions for a variety of contract types.
- Assist in keeping program information current and data organized to submit to management for decision making.
- Assist in the preparation of reports and briefings on program status, policies and procedures, in support of acquisition program milestones.
- Support cost/benefit analysis.
- Analyze effectiveness and efficiency of program; develop recommendations to improve program operations.
- Answer data calls and inquiries on program policies and procedures.
- Monitor programs to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
- Research ways to eliminate program bottlenecks and barriers to production; support government counterparts in development of solutions to program issues.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business or a technical field.
- DoD work experience preferred.
- Certifications: DAWIA Certification in the Program Management field or ability to attain within 6 months of hire preferred.
- Working knowledge of project management/scheduling software applications such as MS Project.
- Experience with task management systems, proficient in building executive-level briefings, and ability to apply acquisition experience to formulation and consolidation of official responses to taskers, RFIs, etc.
