Position

The Engineering Intern, currently enrolled in a college or university program, will play a crucial role in evaluating products and processes to ensure they meet compliance standards and customer-driven specifications. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Engineering Intern to join our manufacturing team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in process optimization and contribute to critical projects that enhance our operations. The intern will work closely with our engineering and production teams to support process improvements and deliver measurable results.

Responsibilities

• Promote Safety as the Number 1 priority of OMG.
• Conduct periodic physical measurements of product using devices such as scales, verniers, dial indicators, calipers, electronic indicators, pressure sensing instruments, and other more complex instruments, both mechanical and electronic.
• Manipulate and transmit data, and prepare unbiased graphical analysis of tested samples, utilizing computer software programs.
• Collaborate on the optimization of ECoat recipes, focusing on correlating film thickness with paint tank chemistry.
• Analyze and maintain the relationship between ECoat processes and tied-in packing equipment.
• Conduct experiments, collect data, and present findings to support process improvements.
• Create spreadsheets and data collection programs to simplify the dissemination of information accumulated in laboratory testing.
• Work alongside production staff to identify opportunities for enhanced efficiency and quality.
• Maintain necessary files, records, and computer databases of historical information.
• Perform other tasks as required.
  
  

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior work or studies in Engineering and/or Manufacturing preferred, but not required.
• Self Starter
• Good written and verbal communication, and basic math, skills.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to solve practical problems.
• Solid time management skills and ability to prioritize workloads.
• Make observations on the factory floor
• Advanced PC skills including experience with MS Office Suite (strong Excel skills required).
• Ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance; and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Good close vision and depth perception skills.
• Ability to work and contribute as part of a team.
