The intern will work closely with our engineering and production teams to support process improvements and deliver measurable results.
Responsibilities
- Promote Safety as the Number 1 priority of OMG.
- Conduct periodic physical measurements of product using devices such as scales, verniers, dial indicators, calipers, electronic indicators, pressure sensing instruments, and other more complex instruments, both mechanical and electronic.
- Manipulate and transmit data, and prepare unbiased graphical analysis of tested samples, utilizing computer software programs.
- Collaborate on the optimization of ECoat recipes, focusing on correlating film thickness with paint tank chemistry.
- Analyze and maintain the relationship between ECoat processes and tied-in packing equipment.
- Conduct experiments, collect data, and present findings to support process improvements.
- Create spreadsheets and data collection programs to simplify the dissemination of information accumulated in laboratory testing.
- Work alongside production staff to identify opportunities for enhanced efficiency and quality.
- Maintain necessary files, records, and computer databases of historical information.
- Perform other tasks as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior work or studies in Engineering and/or Manufacturing preferred, but not required.
- Self Starter
- Good written and verbal communication, and basic math, skills.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to solve practical problems.
- Solid time management skills and ability to prioritize workloads.
- Make observations on the factory floor
- Advanced PC skills including experience with MS Office Suite (strong Excel skills required).
- Ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance; and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Good close vision and depth perception skills.
- Ability to work and contribute as part of a team.
