Role Overview:
A discerning private household in Los Angeles is seeking a talented Private Chef with a strong focus on high-quality, Michelin-level food presentation and a nutritionally-conscious, non-dairy, low-fat, and low-salt diet. This role requires the creation of exciting and tailored meals for a small family, with a commitment to excellence in both taste and presentation.
The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience working in private households or on yachts, ideally with a background in nutrition-focused cooking. You will be expected to prepare lunch and dinner six days a week, ensuring a balanced, gourmet approach to every meal. You must also be adept at following specific dietary restrictions and preferences. Fluency in Italian is preferred, but fluency in English is essential.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience: At least 2 years in private household or yacht/seasonal private chef roles, with a proven record in high-end, nutrition-focused cooking.
- References: Impeccable references from the last 3 years, demonstrating reliability, professionalism, and culinary excellence.
- Food Presentation: Proven ability to deliver Michelin-level food presentation and culinary creativity. A portfolio or high-quality photographs of previous work must be provided.
- Dietary Expertise: Knowledge of and experience in preparing non-dairy, low-salt, low-fat meals while maintaining taste and variety.
- Languages: Fluency in English is required; fluency in Italian, Spanish, or French is preferred.
- Passport: Eligible for travel to the EU, UK, and USA (UK/EU/US passport holders preferred).
Key Responsibilities:
- Meal Preparation: Plan and prepare daily lunch and evening meals, focusing on nutritional content, non-dairy, low-salt, and low-fat options.
- Presentation: Create visually stunning dishes with a Michelin-standard presentation. The family places significant importance on the appearance of food, so you will need to showcase your expertise through a detailed portfolio or high-quality food photographs.
- Dietary Restrictions: Ensure strict adherence to a detailed list of foods the family can or cannot consume.
- Adaptability & Creativity: Work with the family’s unique preferences, including custom menu planning and incorporating seasonal ingredients.
- Travel: Travel with the family to various locations in the EU, UK, Caribbean, and elsewhere as needed.
- Collaboration: Liaise directly with the family to ensure meals meet their needs, preferences, and standards.
