Position: Youth Advisory Council (YAC) Coordinator

Position Overview:
The Youth Advisory Council (YAC) Coordinator is responsible for facilitating the YAC program by providing leadership training, mentorship, and community engagement opportunities for youth participants. This role includes coordinating meetings, managing transportation, and overseeing program activities while maintaining compliance with contract requirements. The YAC Coordinator will work closely with youth, families, and community partners to support youth development and leadership.
This is a part-time, in-person position that requires flexibility for evening and occasional weekend work to accommodate meetings and events.
Key Responsibilities:Program Coordination & Facilitation
- Organize and lead bi-monthly or monthly YAC meetings.
- Provide leadership development, mentorship, and training for youth participants.
- Ensure all program activities align with contract deliverables.
Community Engagement & Events
- Coordinate and facilitate community engagement activities.
- Foster positive relationships between youth, law enforcement, and the community.
- Support youth participation in leadership and advocacy opportunities.
Youth Support & Outreach
- Provide direct communication with youth and families to address participation barriers.
- Facilitate transportation for youth participants to meetings and events.
- Ensure a safe and inclusive space for youth engagement.
Administrative & Reporting Duties
- Maintain accurate records of participant engagement, meeting minutes, and program activities.
- Track and report quarterly and annual data..
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience working with youth in mentorship, leadership development, or community programs.
- Strong facilitation and organizational skills.
- Experience in event planning and community engagement.
- Ability to work collaboratively with law enforcement, community organizations, and families.
- Must pass a background check per county requirements.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to provide transportation when needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of juvenile justice systems, youth advocacy, and community-based programs.
- Experience working with system-impacted youth.
- Familiarity with Ventura County youth services and community resources.
Work Conditions & Schedule:
- Part-time, in-person position
- Must be available to attend meetings and events in various locations across Ventura County.
- Requires some evening and occasional weekend availability.

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
