The People and Culture Coordinator provides support across Human Resources (HR) operations, talent acquisition, and training and development functions. This role ensures the smooth execution of day-to-day activities, helping to build and sustain an inclusive, engaged, and high-performing culture. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, proactive, and passionate about creating a positive associate experience.



A typical day might include the following:


Departmental Support:

  • Maintain associate records and ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulations.  
  • Process HR-related documents, including onboarding, offboarding, and benefits administration.
  • Track and maintain associate referral program.  
  • Coordinate meetings, manage agendas, take detailed notes, and distribute follow-up materials.  
  • Plan and coordinate meeting logistics, including ordering lunches and managing materials/recap notes.
  • Respond to associate inquiries related to HR policies, benefits, and procedures.  
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and other documentation as needed.  
  • Support HR team projects and initiatives, ensuring timely and accurate execution.  
  • Assist with planning and coordinating company-wide events and recognition programs.
  • Order supplies and track inventory for materials, giveaways
  • Assist with job fairs including preparing giveaways, employment branding materials, and attending events as needed.
  • Ensure personnel files are updated and maintained as needed, including new hire documents.
  • Assist with award entry submissions and event coordination.  
  • Assists each area of People and Culture with Vendor Management Process including maintaining contracts, communicating renewal dates in advance, processing invoices, and supporting vendor onboarding process as requested.
  • Supports expense management within the team, ensuring timely submission of expense reports each month.
  • Supports organizational Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) including coordinating meetings, lunch, and taking minutes.

Talent Acquisition and HR Operations:

  • Process new hire documentation, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all onboarding paperwork.  
  • Assist with onboarding new associates to create a positive and seamless experience, including ordering/coordinating food and materials.
  • Assist with recruiting efforts on occasion, including posting job openings on relevant platforms, tracking applications, screening resumes, and coordinating interviews.
  • Organize and maintain new associate orientation and event storage room including tracking inventory and maintaining a list of items throughout the credit union for shared use.
  • Creating performance reviews for new hires, ensuring they receive them within the second week of onboarding.
  • Monitor and report on the completion of performance reviews to leadership.
  • Provide on-site and virtual support, guidance, and direction to associates related to people and culture questions and inquires.
  • Responsible for department mail collection and distribution to appropriate team members.
  • Monitor department help desk, ensuring inquiries are addressed timely, troubleshooting, collaborating with team members, and escalating as needed.

Training and Development:

  • Schedule and coordinate logistics for training sessions, workshops, and team events.
  • Track associate training records and ensure completion of required programs.  
  • Order supplies and prepare room setups for meetings, training sessions, and other events as needed.  
  • Support the development and distribution of training materials and resources.

Education

  • High School Diploma Required
  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred

Work Experience

  • 1 to 3 years of similar or related experience in Administration, Human Resources, and/or training or equivalent combinations of education and experience required.
  • Previous credit union or banking experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention-to-detail, time management, organization, prioritization, multi-tasking, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic understanding of HR principals, policies, and procedures.
  • Familiarity with employment laws and regulations.
  • Knowledge of HR systems, such as ATS, is a plus.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Work collaboratively in a team environment and build positive relationships.
  • Adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to fostering an inclusive and engaging workplace culture.
