Oneida County is accepting applications for the position of Sheriff’s Office Technical Support.
SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES: This full-time position performs a variety of clerical, receptionist and recordkeeping tasks related to public and confidential records within the Sheriff’s Office. Excellent training is provided.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Qualified candidates must have at least one year post-high school education and a minimum of one year work experience in an office setting, performing secretarial, typing, or similar duties. Applicants who lack the educational requirement but have additional office experience may still be considered. The ideal candidate will have strong computer skills, exceptional organizational abilities, and a strong attention to detail in maintaining accurate records. Excellent customer service skills, the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and proficiency in typing at least 50 words per minute are essential. The candidate should also be capable of transcribing clear, detailed reports and have the ability to understand crime reporting and the Wisconsin Public Records Law.
Successful applicants may be requested for clerical testing, an in-person interview, pre-employment drug screen and background check.
WAGES AND BENEFITS: The 2025 starting pay range is $22.96 to $29.52 per hour, based on relevant education and experience.
