What are the responsibilities and job description for the Crane Operator / Material Handler position at Onin Staffing?
Duties & Responsibilities:
Knowledgeable and safe operation of assigned equipment to transfer materials
during unloading, loading, processing, and transfer to storage
Operate a material handler or similar equipment to lift, move, or position material
and other items
Loading or unloading materials from or to designated vehicles including trailers
and railcars
Perform routine pre & post inspections on equipment as per instructions;
reporting any unsatisfactory results to supervisor
Report any damage to company property of any kind including trailers and
equipment
Prepare material for weighing and the recording of weight and other necessary
product information on labels or tags or other document
Accurate, legible, and timely completion of paperwork, tally sheets, and/or
reports
Prepare material properly for shipment and entire load for proper shipping
Attend and complete operator training & certification as requested
Knowledge of various attachments used with assigned material handler such as
sling, electromagnet, grapple, or other attachment device
Remain aware of surrounding work environment to insure safe operation of
equipment around other persons or equipment in the area
Performing other duties as assigned by direct supervisor or department manager
Physical Demands
Walks, sits, stands, bends, lifts, climb stairs, and moves continually during working
hours. Is subject to lifting over 50 pounds.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and the expected work hours are 40 hours per week, Monday
through Friday; weekend work is also necessary on a need basis.
