As a member of the HR team, the Payroll Administrator is responsible for various payroll related functions as assigned. This includes a variety of responsibilities such as: ownership of bi-weekly and weekly payroll processing and administrative Payroll tasks.

What Will You Do?

- Responds to and resolves payroll administrative inquiries and questions.
- Processes payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
- Ensure Compliance with all Union CBA and submit monthly payments as required.
- Ensure accurate calculation of wages, benefits and deductions based on union agreements and established guidelines.
- Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
- Maintains or oversees the maintenance of payroll records.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
- May assist with preparation of human resource reports such as attendance, new hire, and turnover reports.
- Enters, maintains, and/or processes information in the payroll system; information may include employee’s hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, and other information.
- Ensures proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, charitable contributions, and other deductions.
- Bi-Weekly and Weekly Processing of Payroll as well as Same Day Checks
- Audit Payroll Allocation report against General Ledger Posting to ensure Payroll system balances with General Ledger Accounts and perform GL Adjustments when required
- Audit 940 forms vs GL vs Workers Comp
- Manage PTO reconciliation, ensuring compliance with company policy.
- Respond to unemployment claims, disputing when necessary.
- Conduct training on payroll and time clock policies and procedures
- Performs other duties as assigned.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred
- Proven experience as a Payroll Administrator/Specialist with a focus on unionized environments.
- Working knowledge of union regulations, collective bargaining agreement and relevant labor laws.
- 3 years of multi-state payroll experience
- Working Knowledge of HRIS Systems and systems in general.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision required.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality related to sensitive company and employee information.
- Excellent ability to multi-task and prioritize in a busy, fast-growth environment Experience with UKG preferred.
