BROAD FUNCTION:
Under the direction of the Vice President/Chief Diversity Officer (CDO), the Director of Inclusion and Belonging is responsible for developing and implementing cultural programs and services to assist students in achieving their educational and personal developmental goals. The position involves creating an atmosphere of connectedness, belonging, and well-being for a diverse student body.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works collaboratively with both on- and off-campus constituencies, reporting to the Vice President/CDO, to plan, coordinate, implement, and assess programs that promote a campus culture that celebrates and respects the College's diverse citizenry.
Prepares programs and/or gathers information about campus diversity programs and activities representing historical cultural celebratory months, such as Latinx Heritage Month, Native American Heritage Month, Black History Month, Women's History Month, and LGBTQ History Month. Produces and disseminates calendars of related campus-wide programs for each month, fostering a sense of community and connection among all campus members.
Maintains a student caseload and monitors student progress, tracks student success, and documents the collective student achievements in accordance with campus-wide metrics: retention, time to degree, and graduation rate.
Assist in developing and overseeing prospective and current student summer programs that introduce or enhance their knowledge.
Assesses the effectiveness of programs by collecting and analyzing data, including learning outcomes, and using information to make informed decisions about program improvements.
Oversees implementing programs designed to address the retention and success of the College's diverse students.
Oversees the implementation of the Student Conversation Circles About Race, Gender, Religion, Economic Status, Sexual Orientation, etc., designed to provide students with a platform for sharing their identities and experiences and building understanding across identities of difference.
Assists in further identifying and implementing engagement strategies that keep students connected to the College for optimal academic performance.
Creates an environment that fosters positive relationships among and with students and encourages student engagement and success.
Works with Human Resources and the Vice President/CDO in identifying appropriate and relevant campus training for employees.
Works with Human Resources and the Vice President/CDO to assist with developing pipelines for new faculty and staff.
Works with the Assistant Dean to identify potential students for civil engagement internships.
Assists with implementing the annual ceremony recognizing students involved in leadership and civic engagement activities.
Assists with securing community support for co-sponsored student events.
Serves on the College's Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Council and various committees and workgroups, contributing significantly to students' academic and personal growth.
Serves on other college committees, including the Campus Well-Being Committee.
Provides routine weekly and monthly reports on departmental student activities and student outcomes.
Collaborates with Enrollment Management on student recruitment activities, providing insights from a diversity and student engagement perspective to ensure a holistic approach to student recruitment.
Performs all other duties as assigned within the scope of responsibilities.

Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or foreign equivalency in educational administration & leadership or related program
Minimum of 3-5 years of professional (full-time, postgraduate) experience in higher education.
Track record of success working with diverse students.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's degree from an accredited college or university or foreign equivalent.
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a leadership role in higher education (community college preferred).
Experience working with diverse students.
Evidence of taking a leadership role in developing and implementing new programs and systems that lead to improving results.
Bilingual in English and Spanish. English and other languages will be considered.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Significant computer, database/information management, and reporting experience.
Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, program assessment, and communications skills.
Strong analytic and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, as well as presentation and networking skills.
A demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of college students.

Additional Information:
Salary range is: $64,420 - $72,000, commensurate with credentials and relevant experience.
