KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with school staff and public
- Considerable knowledge of and ability to use correct grammar, vocabulary, spelling and punctuation
- Considerable knowledge of office practices and procedures
- Ability to use word processing and spreadsheet software programs
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively
- Ability to exercise good judgment
EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
- Current valid NC Commercial Driver’s License with P and S endorsements
- High school diploma and two years related clerical experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 12 months
Hours are split shift 5:00 am to 9:00 am and 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm during school year
Summer scheduled hours during non-school months
SALARY: Salary Grade 55
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with the coordination of bus assignments for Exceptional Children/Pre-K/OCLC students
- Provide administrative support for transportation planning through the use of T.I.M.S.
- Manage scheduling of trips through Schooldude
- Perform field audits of bus assignments
- Daily review of the time and attendance records within the TACS system
- Compile data and prepare reports as needed by Coordinator
- Update/file records and perform data entry, as requested.
- Operate a two-way radio as means of communication to district school buses, Supervisor and or Transportation Department
- Perform duties of School Bus Driver or Safety Assistant when needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to stand, sit, or walk for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to reach with hands and arms routinely.
- Ability to bend, stoop, carry, push, or pull.
- Ability to carry furniture such as tables and chairs, supplies and materials
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds routinely and 30 pounds occasionally.
- Must be able to visually and orally communicate with staff and students.
- Must be able to drive to variety of school sites.
