Ontogen Medtech is a dynamic medical device development firm, based in the Chicago area, known for its technical leadership and expertise in bringing innovative medical device ideas to life. We partner with clients of all sizes worldwide, offering comprehensive product development services from concept to clearance for medical devices and in-vitro diagnostic technology.


We are seeking a strategic and results-oriented Head of Business Development to spearhead our growth initiatives and expand our market footprint. The ideal candidate will excel at identifying new business opportunities, cultivating strong client relationships, and shaping business strategies to drive sustained growth.


Responsibilities may include:

·        Develop and implement a robust business development strategy to achieve growth objectives and broaden our client base.

·        Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the medical device and in-vitro diagnostics sectors.

·        Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective clients, active clients, industry partners, and academic institution partners.

·        Prepare, review, and present project proposals to prospective clients

·        Analyze historical performance metrics to optimize the sales funnel and improve conversion rates.

·        Oversee the negotiation and closure of deals with clients and partners.

·        Represent Ontogen Medtech at industry events and conferences

·        Plan, organize, and execute Ontogen-led industry events and conferences

·        Provide actionable insights into market trends to guide product development and innovation.

·        Participating in strategic planning and setting long-term goals for the company.

·        Lead all marketing initiatives for Ontogen Medtech including advertising, social media, etc.


Qualifications:

·        Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field; MBA preferred.

·        Minimum 5 years proven experience in business development

·        Minimum 5 years in the medical device industry (non-academic).

·        Strong network in the medical device sector and ability to leverage existing relationships.

·        Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.

·        Strategic thinker with a track record of driving growth and innovation.

·        Outgoing and engaging personality, with the ability to connect with people at all levels and foster long-lasting relationships.

·        Some travel required
