What are the responsibilities and job description for the Landscape Maintenance Team Member position at Onyx Corporation?
Our Landscape Maintenance Team Members play a vital role enhancing high end residential properties. Responsibilities include Spring and Fall clean ups, improvements to existing lawns and gardens, regular bed maintenance, planting, and property enhancements.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Works alongside landscape maintenance team performing all aspects of landscape maintenance, including spring and fall cleanups, mulching, edging of plant beds, and fine gardening.
- Work independently when needed, demonstrating initiative in completing tasks and anticipating next steps for improved efficiency.
- Complete set tasks for the day in allotted time as directed by team leader
- Properly maintain, clean, and store tools and equipment at the end of each workday.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong understanding of landscape care such as clean ups, mulching, weed whacking, mowing.
- Understand safe handling of hand tools and machine operation, leaf vacs, leaf blowers.
- Possess strong communication skills with team members, customers and management.
- Ability to perform tasks in allotted time, while still maintaining a high level of quality work.
- Ability to follow safety procedures as outlined in Safety Manual.
- Willing to take direction from crew leader and work as a team.
- Irrigation experience a plus.
- Tree, shrub, and perennial ID and care knowledge a plus.
Education and Experience/Licenses:
- High school diploma or equivalent and 3-5 years of landscape experience
- Valid driver’s license
- DOT Certificate (acquired within one month from date of hire)
- OSHA Certificate (acquired within one month from date of hire)
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to physically operate landscape hand tools, machines, and small equipment.
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and stand.
- Must be able to work in all types of weather, including extremely hot and extremely cold temperatures.
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
