We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients.
- Help with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety and comfort.
- Monitor and document client health status, reporting any changes to healthcare professionals.
- Administer medications as prescribed and assist with basic medical needs.
- Support clients with meal preparation and nutritional needs.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to implement personalized care plans.
- Assist individuals with disabilities in achieving their daily goals and maintaining independence.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in patient care, senior care, or assisted living environments is preferred.
- Knowledge of emergency medicine practices is a plus.
- Familiarity with medical documentation processes is beneficial.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in pediatrics is advantageous.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment within teaching hospitals or similar settings.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems such as Epic is desirable.
- Strong communication skills, empathy, and patience are essential for this role.
- Certification as a Personal Care Assistant or related training is preferred but not required.
