What are the responsibilities and job description for the SVP & Chief Client Director- Global position at Opportunities at Ipsos?
The Senior Vice President & Chief Client Director (CCD) is an integral part of both the Ipsos’ US Client Organization and the Ipsos Global Client Organization. This role will be focused on high growth, high value restaurant and retail clients. The Senior Vice President & Chief Client Director will also devote time to growing emerging relationships and developing new and existing buying points. This position has high visibility within both the Ipsos Global and US organizations, reporting to both Global and US Client Organizations. The SVP will interact with key senior stakeholders, including the US Chief Client Officer, Service Line Group Presidents, Executive Vice Presidents, Global Account Leads, and Service Line Client & Project teams
The Senior Vice President & Chief Client Director will focus their time and attention on both strategic and operational issues, primarily by:
- Understanding the clients’ strategy and challenges
- Showing deep sectoral knowledge, interest and enthusiasm in restaurant and retail sectors
- Building and activating short-term and long-term strategic account plans to grow the client
- Identifying and targeting those client opportunities with the strongest ROI
- Building and nurturing relationships with senior client stakeholders (Insights, Marketing, UX, Strategy, AdSales/Digital Sales, Ads Marketing, Procurement, Operations, etc.)
- Overseeing quality of client facing content and developing thought leadership
- Retaining and expanding existing programs
- Penetrating new accounts and buying points
- Expanding the number of Ipsos services sold to clients
- Adapting client messages and offers from hook to developing differentiated large pitches
- Nurture a community of researchers at Ipsos excited to play an integral role in growing the account
- Staying current on industry and competitive trends
- Communicating Ipsos’ value proposition to clients
This role will also have global responsibilities. As the Chief Client Director, this role will act as the Global Account Lead on one key account, focusing on:
- Driving internal collaboration across key stakeholders and markets, activating a network to give the best of Ipsos to the client.
- Managing client satisfaction and relationships at a global level
- Ensuring business impact, growth and value creation across countries
- Building and driving activation of a global strategic account plan with contributions from global service lines and countries. Define revenue targets by country and service line
- Supporting countries and service lines in pitching and pricing significant opportunities
- Negotiating framework/contract agreements with the client at a global level with the support of Finance and Legal
- Managing challenges and issues escalated by the client at a global level and in support of countries
What you can expect to be doing:
Driving Growth:
- Builds a growth plan in collaboration with the service lines through defining target revenue by client, identifying significant opportunities e.g. competitor programs and developing hooks to open conversations
- Works closely with the service lines to develop plans to diversify the services we sell to current stakeholders, engage new stakeholders within current clients, and pursue opportunities with potential clients that we do not currently work with
- Ensures a ‘one Ipsos’ approach where multiple service lines target the same client/stakeholder; facilitates the combination of Ipsos services to answer clients’ business challenges
- Introduces the relevant Ipsos service lines to the client to maximize opportunities
- Aims to achieve a balance between developing new relationships for medium/long-term growth and delivering more immediate opportunities
- Tracks pre-proposal conversations and reports activity e.g. pipeline
- Works within the role specific tasks laid out in the Ipsos engagement framework (RACI)
- Inspires countries across Ipsos to add value to the client’s organization
Adding Value:
- Understands the sector, context, and strategic growth questions the client faces
- Builds a long-term vision for the client, identifying the client’s growth agenda, priorities, competitive landscape, and key stakeholders
- Identifies and promotes Ipsos’ value proposition to meet client needs
- Focuses on, and tries to measure, the ROI our insight provides to our clients
- Recognizes how clients make decisions and how to better support them
- Develops new ideas, thought leadership, and innovative ways of answering clients’ business questions
- Connects the dots for clients; building on previous conversations/projects to deliver incremental value
- Mobilizes the wider Ipsos organization to support and innovate with clients
Building Long-term Partnerships:
- Creates personal connections with clients to develop relationships
- Develops and facilitates meaningful conversations around the client’s needs and business questions
- Moves our interactions past research exclusively, and into a more advisory relationship
- Maximizes positive sentiment and client satisfaction, working with the SL when challenges and issues are escalated by the client
- Builds relationships and trust with key client decision-makers to establish trusted advisor status
- Challenges the program retention plans, where client needs require a change or innovation in approach

- Business and Commercial Acumen in the consumer products segment: understand and leverage key financial metrics and KPIs
- Internal and External Stakeholder Management: engages and communicates with internal and external partners using the appropriate channel and in the appropriate timeframe
- Negotiation Skills: effectively balances Ipsos’ financial position/pricing relative to the client’s budget and overall business relationship
- Analytic Storytelling: communicate and translate technical / abstract concepts in a customer-friendly way
- Knowledge of Ipsos’ Products and Services: demonstrate the ability to match client needs and budget with Ipsos’ offers
- Industry & Sector Knowledge: Know the Restaurant industry. Additional experience in Retail is a plus.
- Advisory / Strategic Thinking and Insight: understand how clients make decisions and how we can help them to achieve their growth ambitions
- Account Planning: build and execute an operational plan to stay close to clients at the right intervals
- Influence and Relationship-building: work with clients and internal colleagues in a respectful and transparent manner; ability to collaborate in a matrixed environment
- Impactful communication and presentation skills understand the audience and effectively convey Ipsos’ solutions clearly and relative to the client’s priorities

In accordance with NY/CO/CA/WA law, the estimated base salary range for this role is $215,000 to $235,000 Your final base salary will be determined based on several non-discriminatory factors which may include but are not limited to location, work experience, skills, knowledge, education and/or certifications.
