SUMMARY: Individual who is responsible for assistance in the administration, supervision, and evaluation in matters pertaining to the management of the school.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assist in developing the program of instruction consistent with the needs of the students and state mandates according to district policy.
2. Visit the classrooms in order to maintain a knowledge of current curriculum, teacher preparation and student performance.
3. Work with the superintendent/principal to implement district goals and procedures.
4. Assist with Interviewing, recommending for hiring, assigning, training and supervising the school faculty and staff.
5. Assist in the implementation and evaluation of instructional programs.
6. Work with the staff and the superintendent/principal in the selection of instructional programs, textbooks, equipment, and teaching materials.
7. Perform teacher and staff evaluations as outlined in the district policy manual.
8. Assist in the development of staff development programs.
9. Assist in administering the approved school budget by seeing that expenditures are within the approved budgetary allotments.
10. Attend administrative staff and faculty meetings, appropriate county, state, or community meetings and governing board meetings.
11. Develop and sustain a positive communication system with the community, teaching staff, administrators and governing board by providing an open door policy to ensure all feel welcome to discuss policies and problems.
12. Help maintain a safe and secure campus for all personnel and students.
13. Follow district policies and procedures as adopted by the Governing Board.
14. Work with the superintendent/principal to establish and maintain an effective learning climate in the school.
15. Keep current in education reading, research and trends that pertain to the educational process and general school improvement.
16. Keep the superintendent/principal informed of all school activities, programs and concerns.
17. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
QUALIFICATIONS: Possess a valid Arizona Administrative Certificate for the position
SCOPE AND SALARY: 260 day contracted position based upon an agreed salary, with 20 days of vacation, two weeks Winter Break, one week Spring Break and holidays, and benefits according to district policy. The salary range is $55,000 to $60,000 based on experience and qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications
1. Verifiable experience of at least three years in a leadership capacity.
2. Experience in school wide behavior plans such as PBIS.
3. Curriculum knowledge in early childhood literacy.
4. Demonstrated experience supporting students with special needs.
5. Skilled in building positive relationships with parents, students and staff.
