Job description -
Full-time Oral Surgery Assistant needed for high-quality, busy oral surgery practice. We seek a motivated team player committed to providing excellent customer service to our patients. Assisting the doctor at chairside is an integral part of the job. Experience is a plus, but will train the right person.
Position is for both our Fond du Lac, and West Bend Offices - must be willing to travel.
What You Will Do -
Our ideal candidate will have the ability to complete the following tasks, as well as other assigned and related duties:
- Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments, materials, and equipment in accordance with infection control and biohazard protocols.
- Prepare patient charts, record treatment plans, and update dental records.
- Assist the surgeon with all chairside procedures including operatory setup, anesthesia administration, and cleanup.
- Prepare patients for surgery and monitor vital signs during procedures.
- Provide patients with information on oral health care, treatment plans, and postoperative outcomes.
- Monitor our stock of surgical supplies and medication and replenish, as needed.
- Ensure that instruments and equipment are effectively maintained.
- Provide exceptional patient care at all times.
What You Will Bring -
Our ideal candidate will have relevant experience and the following credentials/skills:
- Previous experience preferred
- Sound knowledge of how to use surgical equipment, instruments, and materials.
- A good understanding of surgical techniques, chairside responsibilities, and health and safety protocols.
- Great organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to provide exceptional patient care in both calm and stressful circumstances.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
